The T.A.G. Local File Viewer
Copyright 1992, by Headrush
This program is FREEWARE. All I ask if you distribute it is to keep
the two files TV.EXE, and this doc file included in the archive.
The main purpose of the this program is to view *.clr and *.msg files
used with T.A.G. Are you tired of loading up the BBS, just to go to Mini-DOS
to display these files in color? Well, so was I. This program will display
those *.clr and *.msg files locally, in DOS, in FULL TAG COLOR. Right now the
colors are hard-coded, but perhaps a config file of sorts to choose colors
will be available in the future.
To use this program is very simple, and I'm probably insulting you by
telling you how to, but you never know about some people. First of all, you
MUST have your ANSI.SYS driver loaded, or any other compatible ANSI driver.
You will be riddled with annoying ANSI codes if you don't load one prior to
using this program. The proper syntax is as follows:
TV <filename>
Full paths may be included in the filename field. The TV.EXE file can
be anywhere in your DOS path.
Colors
------
The colors, as I said before, are hard-coded into the program. They are as
follows:
CTRL-P 1 ... Magenta on Black
CTRL-P 2 ... Bright White on Black
CTRL-P 3 ... Bright Cyan on Black
CTRL-P 4 ... Green on Black
CTRL-P 5 ... Bright Yellow on Black
CTRL-P 6 ... Bright Yellow on Blue
CTRL-P 7 ... Red on Black
CTRL-P 8 ... Bright Red on Black, Flashing
CTRL-P 9 ... Bright Blue on Black
CTRL-P 0 ... Bright Green on Black
As you can see, they are pretty much the default colors, with only a couple of
changes. These are the colors I prefer on T.A.G. boards, so this is what you
guys are stuck with.
Well, that should be all you need to know about the program. There
are no warranties of any kind, and it is only guaranteed to take up some
space. Other than that, it's out of my control. If you are so paranoid about
it, don't run it. Plain and simple. There are other local viewers out there,
but this one is the only one in color, as far as I know.
If you have any comments/suggestions/hate mail,
drop me a note. You can leave private mail on
*A*R*T*H*U*R* BBS, addressed to Headrush, or you
can call my board (cheap plug, thank you):
